Melanie Adelina Lopes Barbosa was born on May 6th, 1999, in Vila Nova Sintra Brava, Cabo Verde. Melanie was the daughter of Maria Barrows and Anselmo X. Barbosa. Melanie was a mother to Messiah Xander Mosquera and Leeyon Xavier Teixeira. She leaves behind siblings Telmo A. Barbosa, Egor Barbosa, Munalissa Barbosa, Grandfather Daniel T. Nobre, Grandmothers Adelina Lopes and Domingas Barbosa, niece Miabella Barbosa, aunts, uncles and many cousins.

Melanie, also known as Metcha or Mel. She graduated from Charles E. Shea High School Following graduation she continued perfecting her craft as a traveling hair stylist. Melanie had the ability to make a vision into a reality. No hairstyle was too complicated or burdensome. She had the personality that grasped everyone she encountered. Her energy was infatuating where you had no choice other than to be in good spirits in her presence.

Family and friends are asked to come pay their respects on Sunday January 8th, 2023, at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. RI. from 2pm-5pm. Her Funeral will be on Monday, January 9th DIRECTLY at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 32 Lawn Avenue Pawtucket, RI at 12pm. The burial will take place in Gates of Heaven, East Providence.
